이 영화는 가자지구에서 오랜 시간 의료 활동을 이어 온 팔레스타인계 영국인 외과의사 가산 아부 시타의 삶과 증언을 따라갑니다.
가자 학살의 한복판에서 생명을 지키기 위해 분투하는 의료진과 팔레스타인 사람들의 현실을 함께 목격하고, 우리가 할 수 있는 연대와 실천에 관해 이야기를 나누고자 합니다.
영화 상영 후에는 관객과의 대화 시간이 마련됩니다. 이야기 손님으로 한국의 팔레스타인 연대 운동에 동참해오신 재한 팔레스타인인을 모실 예정입니다.

○ 시놉시스

팔레스타인계 영국인 외과의사 가산 아부 시타 박사는 폭격을 받는 가자지구에서 43일간 쉬지 않고 부상자들을 치료했다.
참혹한 상태의 부상자들, 표적이 되는 병원, 천애의 고아가 된 아이들을 마주하며 그가 하는 일은 저항의 상징이 됐다.
이 영화는 그가 겪은 여섯 번째이자 가장 참혹한 가자 “학살”과 가족들의 고통을 다룬다. 위험에도 불구하고 그를 계속해서 인도주의적 사명으로 이끄는, 팔레스타인을 위한 열정을 조명한다.

This film follows the life and testimony of Ghassan Abu Sittah, a Palestinian-British surgeon who has been providing medical care in the Gaza Strip for many years.

We invite you to witness the reality faced by medical staff and the Palestinian people as they struggle to save lives in the midst of the genocide in Gaza strip, and to join us in discussing the solidarity and action we can take.

A post-screening conversation will follow the screening. We plan to welcome a Palestinian in Korea who has been actively involved in the Palestinian solidarity movement in Korea as a guest speaker.

○Synopsis:

Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah, a Palestinian-British surgeon, treated the wounded nonstop for 43 days in the Gaza Strip amid bombardment.

Faced with critically injured patients, hospitals under attack, and children left completely orphaned, his work became a symbol of resistance.

This film chronicles his sixth and most harrowing experience of the Gaza “Genocide” and the suffering of his family. It highlights his passion for Palestine, which continues to drive him toward his humanitarian mission despite the dangers.
