🇵🇸 3월 31일 화요일, ‘2026 DMZ 세계문학 페스타’에 참가한 팔레스타인 작가 아흘람 브샤라트 님을 초청해 점령 속의 아동 문학에 대해 듣는 소중한 시간을 가졌습니다.
재한 팔레스타인인들과 작가, 시인 분들, 기간제교사노조 선생님들 등 여러 참가자들이 자리를 메워 주셨습니다.
🙌 팔레스타인 작가들과 교류를 이어오는 데 큰 역할을 하고 계신 김남일 작가 님의 여는 말이 있었습니다.
이란 전쟁의 영향으로 아흘람 작가 님의 방한 일정이 취소될 뻔 했지만, 여러 사람들의 노력으로 귀한 시간을 가질 수 있게 됐다고 인사를 전했습니다.
📚 아흘람 작가 님은 본인의 동화책을 소개하며, 점령 하의 팔레스타인 어린이들이 겪는 현실을 생생하게 전해주셨습니다.
📖 강제로 집을 떠날 때 중요한 것과 가벼운 것, 필수적인 것, 좋아하는 것 중에 어떤 것을 가지고 나가야 할 지 고민하는 아이의 이야기
📖 점령 하에서 한쪽 다리를 잃어 목발을 짚는 아이가 지팡이를 짚는 할아버지와의 여정을 통해 세 발로 걸어가는 법을 배우는 이야기
😲 “책으로 무엇을 하려고 하세요?”라고 묻는 팔레스타인 아이들에게 작가 님은 “세상에 너희의 목소리를 알리기 위해서”라고 답한다고 합니다.
✌️ 팔연사는 이후에도 집회와 다양한 행사 등으로 팔레스타인 해방을 위한 목소리를 내고자 합니다. 많은 분들이 함께 해주시기를 바랍니다!
🇵🇸 On Tuesday, March 31, we had the valuable opportunity to invite Palestinian author Ahlam Bsharat, who participated in the “2026 DMZ World Literature Festival,” to speak about children’s literature under occupation.
The venue was filled with a diverse group of participants, including Palestinians living in Korea, writers, poets, and teachers from the Temporary Teachers’ Union.
🙌 The event opened with remarks by writer Kim Nam-il, who has played a significant role in fostering exchanges with Palestinian writers. He shared that Ahlam Bsharat’s visit to Korea was nearly canceled due to the impact of the Iran war, but thanks to the efforts of many people, this meaningful gathering was made possible.
📚 Ahlam introduced her children’s books and vividly conveyed the realities faced by Palestinian children living under occupation.
📖 One story follows a child who must decide what to take when being forced to leave home—choosing between what is important or light, essential or beloved.
📖 Another tells of a child who lost a leg under occupation and, through a journey with a grandfather who uses a cane, learns how to walk on three legs.
😲 When Palestinian children ask her, “What are you trying to do with books?”, she replies, “To let the world hear your voices.”
