겨울이 시작되었고 그중 가장 추운 시기에 들어서면서 매우 어려운 시기를 보내고 있습니다.
추위가 뼛속까지 파고듭니다. 텐트는 추위를 막아주지 못하고, 강한 바람 앞에서는 버티지도 못합니다.
거센 바람이 텐트를 날려버리고 아이들의 몸을 얼어붙게 하며,
비는 모든 것을 잠기게 합니다.
우리의 소지품, 음식, 옷, 심지어 잠자리에 쓰는 이불까지 모두요.
우리는 잠잘 곳도 없고, 몸을 보호할 것도 없습니다.
텐트는 낡고, 방수포는 찢어졌으며, 몸은 지칠 대로 지쳤습니다.
매일 극심한 추위로 인해 어린아이들과 아기들이 목숨을 잃고 있습니다.
밤에 잠에서 깨면 빗물에 잠겨 있거나, 바람에 텐트가 날아가 거리에서 자고 있는 자신을 발견하게 됩니다.
우리는 원래 겨울을 사랑했고, 그 도래를 기다리던 사람들이었습니다.
하지만 이제는 텐트가 물에 잠길까 두려워 겨울이 오는 것을 두려워하고, 오지 않기를 바랍니다.
트럼프의 계획에 대해서 말하자면, 그것은 식민주의적 계획이며 우리에게 도움이 되거나 힘이 되는 것은 하나도 없습니다.
모두 점령과 식민 세력의 이익만을 위한 것입니다.
하나님께서 우리의 고통을 덜어주시고 우리를 도와주시기를 기도합니다.

Hello. My name is Asma, and I am from Gaza.
Our situation today is extremely difficult. Winter has begun, and we have entered its coldest period. We are talking about a cold that seeps into the bones.
The tents do not protect us from the cold, and they cannot withstand the strong winds. The fierce winds blow the tents away and freeze the children’s bodies, and the rain floods everything—our belongings, our food, our clothes, and even the blankets we sleep with.
We have nothing to sleep on and nothing to protect our bodies. The tents are worn out, the tarpaulins are torn, and our bodies are completely exhausted.
Every day, children and infants lose their lives because of the extreme cold. When we wake up at night, we find ourselves submerged in rainwater, or sleeping in the streets after the wind has carried our tents away.
Every day, we run endlessly in search of shelter to protect us and our children, a meal to prevent hunger, and a sip of water to quench our thirst.
We used to love winter and wait eagerly for its arrival. But now we fear winter and wish it would not come, afraid that our tents will be flooded.
As for Trump’s plan, it is a colonial plan that does not help or empower us in any way. It serves only the interests of the occupation and colonial powers.
We pray that God will ease our suffering and help us.
