이재명 정부는 기어코 손에 팔레스타인인들의 피를 묻히려 하는가?
트럼프의 가자 ‘평화위원회’에 참가말라!
청와대가 트럼프의 가자지구 ‘평화위원회’ 참가를 적극 고려하고 있다고 한다. 이 기구는 어떤 곳인가? 팔레스타인인들의 영토인 가자지구를 팔레스타인인들이 아닌 외세가 통치, 관리하겠다는 영락 없는 식민 통치 기구다. 오죽하면 팔레스타인인들을 학살해 왔고, 끊임 없이 휴전안을 어겨 온 전범 네타냐후도 참여하겠다고 발표했겠는가?
이 기구는 트럼프가 의장을 맡고, 2003년 이라크전의 전범인 전 영국 총리 토니 블레어도 참여한다고 한다. 가자지구 내 외국군 주둔을 관리하고 팔레스타인 저항 세력의 무장 해제 임무도 맡게 된다. 이런 기구에 한국 정부가 참여하는 것은 지난 2년 동안 최악의 인종학살을 저질러 온 이스라엘의 범죄에 면죄부를 주는 것을 넘어, 실제로 가자지구 식민 점령에 직접 가담하겠다는 것이다.
그동안 이재명 정부는 이스라엘과의 협력을 중단하기는커녕 안보, 무기, 경제, 학술 등 여러 부문에서 교류와 협력을 확대해 왔다. 지난해 11월 유엔 안보리에서는 팔레스타인인들의 자결권을 짓밟는 트럼프의 “평화 구상”에 찬성표를 던졌다.
가자 ‘평화위원회’ 참가는 식민 통치 기구의 일부가 돼 점령과 학살 행위에 가담한다는 뜻이다. 한국 정부가 이 불의한 결정을 한다면, 팔레스타인의 평화와 해방을 바라는 수많은 사람들의 거센 분노를 응당 피할 수 없을 것이다.
인종학살 중단과 이스라엘과의 협력 중단을 요구해 온 ‘팔레스타인인들과 연대하는 사람들’은 가자 ‘평화위원회’를 반대한다. 또한 이 기만적 기구를 도우려는 어떤 움직임도 좌시하지 않을 것이다.

Is S. Korean Gov’t Seeking Complicity in the Shedding of Palestinian Blood?
No to Participation in Trump’s Gaza “Board of Peace”!
South Korean Government is reportedly considering participation in Donald Trump’s Gaza “Board of Peace”. What exactly is this organisation? It is nothing less than a colonial rule body designed to allow foreign powers—not Palestinians—to govern and manage Gaza. It is telling that war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu, who has perpetrated genocide against Palestinians and repeatedly violated ceasefire agreements, has already announced his participation.
Chaired by Trump and joined by former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair—a war criminal of the 2003 Iraq War—this commission aims to oversee the stationing of foreign troops in Gaza and the disarmament of Palestinian resistance. For the South Korean government to join such a body is more than just granting immunity to Israel for two years of horrific genocide; it is an act of direct complicity in the colonial occupation of Gaza.
Rather than severing ties with Israel, the Lee Jae-myung government has expanded cooperation in security, weaponry, economics, and academia. Last November, it even voted in favour of Trump’s “Peace Plan” at the UN Security Council, a plan that tramples on the Palestinian right to self-determination.
Joining the “Board of Peace” means becoming part of a colonial machinery and participating in acts of occupation and genocide. If the Korean government proceeds with this unjust decision, it will inevitably face the fierce indignation of countless people who long for peace and liberation in Palestine.
‘People in Solidarity with Palestinians’, who has consistently demanded an end to genocide and the cessation of cooperation with Israel, vehemently oppose the Gaza “Board of Peace”. We will not stand by as any move is made to support this deceptive body.
