트럼프 방한 규탄한다!
10월 말 미국 대통령 도널드 트럼프가 한국에 온다. 지난 2년 간 무수한 팔레스타인인들의 피를 손에 묻히고 오는 트럼프에게 우리는 분노를 표한다.
도널드 트럼프는 네타냐후가 “역대 최고 미국 대통령”이라고 부를 만큼 이스라엘의 인종학살을 한결같이 지원한 자다. 그의 전폭적 지원 덕에 네타냐후는 지난 3월 일방적으로 휴전을 깨고 대대적 공격에 나서며 지금까지 인종학살을 이어갈 수 있었다. 그 모든 학살과 가자지구에 대한 파괴는 트럼프가 제공한 무기와 정치적 비호 덕분에 가능했다.
현재 트럼프는 또 다른 가자 식민 통치 방안으로 중동의 ‘피스 메이커’가 됐다고 우쭐거리고 있다. 그의 ‘평화 구상’은 가자지구를 팔레스타인인들 자신이 아니라, 악명 높은 전쟁 범죄자 토니 블레어를 의장으로 하는 외세들의 통치 기구에 맡기는 안이다. 팔레스타인 저항 세력에 무장 해제를 강요하는 반면, 가자지구를 여전히 절반 이상 차지하고 있는 이스라엘군에 대해서는 뚜렷한 철군 약속이 없다. 지금도 트럼프는 이스라엘이 팔레스타인인들을 살해하는 것을 묵인하며 오히려 하마스가 휴전을 위태롭게 만든다며 공격을 재개하겠다고 위협하고 있다.
트럼프는 자국의 팔레스타인 연대 운동을 혹독하게 탄압하고 있기도 하다. 트럼트는 전 세계를 고무한 지난해 미국 대학 점거 농성 물결을 이끈 활동가들을 탄압, 추방하며 초법적 폭력을 가하고 있다. 트럼프가 주방위군과 이민세관단속국(ICE)을 동원해 자행하는 탄압은 팔레스타인 연대 운동에 대한 공격이기도 하다. 우리는 미국 팔레스타인 연대 운동 활동가들과 연대하며 트럼프 반대 목소리를 높인다.

Statement
We Condemn Trump’s Visit to Korea — Accomplice to Israel’s Genocide!
At the end of October, U.S. President Donald Trump will visit South Korea. We express our outrage at Trump, whose hands are stained with the blood of countless Palestinians over the past two years.
Donald Trump has consistently supported Israel’s genocide — so much so that Netanyahu once called him “the greatest U.S. president in history.” Thanks to Trump’s unwavering backing, Netanyahu was able to unilaterally break the ceasefire last March, launch a massive assault, and continue the genocide to this day. The mass killings and destruction of Gaza have been made possible by the weapons and political protection Trump has provided.
Now, Trump boasts that he has become a “peacemaker” in the Middle East through yet another colonial plan for Gaza. His so-called “peace initiative” hands over governance of Gaza — not to the Palestinian people themselves — but to a foreign administration chaired by none other than the notorious war criminal Tony Blair. While it demands that Palestinian resistance forces disarm, it offers no clear promise of withdrawal for the Israeli military, which still occupies more than half of Gaza. Even now, Trump condones Israel’s slaughter of Palestinians, while threatening to resume attacks by accusing Hamas of endangering the ceasefire.
Trump is also brutally suppressing the Palestinian solidarity movement within his own country. He has unleashed extralegal violence against activists who inspired last year’s wave of U.S. campus sit-ins in solidarity with Palestine, persecuting and deporting them. The repression carried out by the National Guard and ICE under Trump’s orders is an assault on the global movement for Palestinian solidarity. We stand in solidarity with U.S. activists in the Palestinian solidarity movement and raise our voices against Trump.
We denounce the visit of Trump — accomplice to Israel’s genocide. The “People in Solidarity with Palestinians” will organise action in protest around his visit, advancing the following demands:
– Condemn the visit of Trump, accomplice to genocide!
– Oppose the false “peace plan” that tramples on Palestinians’ right to self-determination!
– Affirm the legitimacy of the Palestinian armed resistance!
