🤝2023년 10월 11일부터 시작되어 어느덧 100차를 맞은 연대 집회의 의미를 재한 팔레스타인인 나리만 님이 말합니다.
자유인들이여, 굳건한 이들이여!
오늘 우리는 평소와 다를 바 없는 집회에 모인 게 아닙니다. 오늘 우리는 자유라는 책의 새 장을 쓰고 있습니다.
오늘은 우리의 100번째 집회입니다.
이 100번의 집회는 정의를 향한 100번의 외침이었고, 존엄을 위해 일어선 100번의 순간이었으며, 그 어떤 먼 거리나 피로도 멈추지 못했던 100번의 걸음이었습니다.
이는 단순한 숫자가 아닙니다. 우리가 벌여 온 100번의 집회는 100번의 인류애를 위한 행동이자, 100번의 팔레스타인인들과 그들의 권리에 대한 신뢰의 행동이고, 100번의 침묵을 깬 목소리요, 100번의 국경과 바다를 건너 ‘팔레스타인은 혼자가 아니다’라는 것을 보여 준 연대의 행동이었습니다.
이 100번의 연대 행동은 노동자와 교사, 의사와 간호사, 언론인과 작가, 예술가와 학생, 여성과 남성, 그리고 매일 아침 꿈을 그리는 아이들로부터 나온 것입니다.
이는 침묵당하지 않겠다는 100번의 외침이고, 어느 한 진영의 정치적 게임의 장기말로 이용되기를 거부하는 100번의 의지이며, 우리의 존엄은 타협의 대상이 아니라는 100번의 선언입니다.
제가 100번의 집회 모두에 참가하지 못했을진 몰라도, 그러나 오늘만큼은 이 집회가 지나온 여정을 기억하며 여러분 앞에 서 있자니 눈물을 머금게 됩니다. 제 생일에 제 소중한 친구 선경이 한 앨범을 선물로 줬습니다. 그 앨범에는 지난 100차례의 집회와 행진을 거치면서 우리가 함께 지나온 순간들을 기억하는 그녀의 사진과 따뜻한 말이 담겨 있었습니다.
제게 있어 그 선물은 그저 종이뭉치가 아닌 저로 하여금 여러분과 함께 이 길을 계속 걸을 수 있도록 힘을 주는 용기와 살아있는 기억이 담긴 선물이었습니다.
그러나 우리가 100번째로 거리로 나온 지금까지도 비극적인 뉴스는 그대로입니다. 이스라엘은 거듭 우리의 상처를 강제로 헤집어 놓고 있습니다.
툴카름에서는 이스라엘 점령자들이 대규모 체포와 가택 습격을 이어가며 우리의 저항 정신을 꺾을 수 있다고 생각합니다. 그러나 점령자들이 알지 못하는 것은, 툴카름은 결코 꺾이지 않는 도시라는 것입니다.
지난 며칠 동안만 해도, 이스라엘은 3일이 채 지나지 않는 사이에 7개 나라를 폭격했습니다. 마치 아랍인, 무슬림, 팔레스타인인들이 흘리는 피가 무가치하다는 듯 말입니다. 그동안 국제사회는 침묵함으로써 이 만행의 공범이 됐습니다.
유엔은 소위 ‘두 국가 해법’이라는 것을 다시 꺼내들었습니다. 그러나 우리는 분명히 말합니다. 두 국가 해법은 환상입니다. 매일 같이 새로운 정착지들이 팔레스타인 영토를 좀먹어 들어가는 와중에, 인종학살이 지난 76년 동안 끊이지 않고 이어지고 있는 와중에 어떻게 두 국가 해법을 말할 수 있습니까?
오늘 우리는 정의를 세계에 구걸하러 나오지 않았습니다. 미국이 이스라엘을 얼마나 지원하든지, 얼마나 많은 강대국들이 여기에 공모하든지 간에, 자유를 약속받은 민족은 결코 꺾이지 않을 것임을 천명하러 나온 것입니다.
자유인 여러분!
첫 100번째는 끝이 아닌 또다른 시작입니다.
이는 정의를 쟁취할 때까지, 팔레스타인 땅이 해방될 때까지, 모든 팔레스타인인들이 그들의 집과 고향 땅으로 돌아갈 때까지 우리가 이 길을 걸어가겠다는 약속입니다.
100번의 집회는 100번의 강인한 끈기의 교훈을 뜻합니다.
100번의 집회는 팔레스타인이 언제까지나 존재할 것이라는 100번의 약속입니다.
100번의 집회는 저들이 침묵시키려 할수록 팔레스타인인들의 목소리는 더욱 더 커질 뿐이라는 뜻입니다.
팔레스타인은 꺾이지 않을 것입니다. 우리의 기억은 지워지지 않을 것입니다. 그리고 우리는 우리의 대의가 정치적 기회주의자들의 무기로 전락하는 것을 두고보지 않을 것입니다.
100번의 집회… 101차 집회가 집회보다 해방을 축하하는 자리가 되기를 바랍니다.

Free people, steadfast ones,
Today we are not standing in an ordinary protest. Today we are writing a new chapter in the book of freedom.
Today marks the day of our 100th protest.
One hundred protests… one hundred cries for justice… one hundred times we stood for dignity… one hundred steps that neither distance nor fatigue could stop.
These are not just numbers; these are one hundred acts of humanity, one hundred acts of trust in the Palestinian people and their rights, one hundred voices that have refused to be silenced, one hundred acts of solidarity that have crossed oceans and borders to say: Palestine is not alone.
These hundred are a hundred acts of solidarity from workers and teachers, doctors and nurses, journalists and writers, artists and students, women and men, and children who draw hope every morning.
They are a hundred voices that refuse to be silenced, a hundred refusals to be used as pawns in a political game for the benefit of one side or another, a hundred declarations that our dignity is not negotiable.
I may not have participated in all hundred, but today I stand before you with tears in my eyes as I recall the journey of these protests. On my birthday, 선경, a dear friend of mine gave me an album as a gift, which had her photos and words about our journey and each stage of the hundred protests and marches we had together.
To me, that gift was not just a collection of papers, but a gift of courage and a living memory that drives me to continue on this path with you.
Although we took to the streets for the hundredth time, the news remains the same: Israel continues to pick at our wounds.
In Tulkarm, the occupation continues to carry out mass arrests, raid homes, and think it can extinguish the rebellious spirit. But what the occupation doesn’t know is that Tulkarm is a city that cannot be broken.
In the last few days alone, Israel has bombed seven countries in less than three days, as if the blood of Arabs, Muslims, and Palestinians is nothing at all, amid international silence that amounts to complicity in the crime.
As for the United Nations, it has reintroduced what they call the ‘two-state solution.’ But we say it clearly: the two-state solution is a delusion. How could they talk about two states when settlements are swallowing up the Palestinian land day after day, when the genocide has not stopped for 76 years?
We are not here to beg for justice from the world, but to declare that no matter how much the US supports Israel, and no matter how much other powers collude, a people destined for freedom will not be broken
Free people!
The first hundred was another beginning, not the end.
It is a promise that we will continue on this path until justice is achieved, until the land is liberated, until the Palestinian people return to their homes and their land.
100 protests… mean 100 lessons in resilience.
100 protests… mean 100 promises that Palestine will prevail.
100 protests… mean that the Palestinian voice, even if they try to silence it, will grow louder and louder.
Palestine will not be broken.
Our memory will not be erased.
And we will not allow our cause to be turned into a weapon in the hands of political opportunists.
100 protests… and I hope that 101st protest will be a celebration of liberation, not a demonstration.
