인종 학살을 정당화하는 주한 이스라엘 대사관!
거짓은 진실을 이길 수 없다
최근 이스라엘 부대사 바락 샤인이 <코리아타임즈>(4월 22일 자)에 1948년 시온주의자들이 벌인 나크바(대재앙)와 오늘날 가자지구 인종 학살을 정당화하는 글을 기고했다. 자신들은 언제나 평화를 바라왔지만 팔레스타인인들과 아랍인들은 폭력을 선택해왔다는 것이다. 또, 아랍인들과 무슬림들이 반유대주의적이라며 인종차별적 언사도 서슴없이 드러냈다.
사실 이스라엘 대사관과 부대사의 거짓 프로파간다는 더 이상 놀랍지도 않다. 하지만 진실을 가릴 수는 없다. 시온주의 국가 이스라엘이 벌인 인종청소로 팔레스타인인들은 강제로 자신들의 땅에서 쫓겨났고 지난 1년 반 동안 벌인 전쟁으로 5만 명의 팔레스타인인들이 목숨을 잃었다. 이 중 다수는 여성과 어린이다. 지금도 이스라엘의 가자지구 봉쇄로 어떠한 물자 반입이 안돼 가자주민들은 아사 직전의 상황에 처해있다.
현 시기를 살고 있는 다수의 사람들은 이스라엘이 벌이는 악행의 본질을 알고 있다. 팔레스타인인들의 독립을 향한 저항과 그에 연대하는 국제적 운동이 진실의 빛을 밝혀왔다. 이스라엘은 결코 승리할 수 없다. 거짓은 진실을 이길 수 없다. 한국에서도 우리는 이스라엘의 인종 학살에 맞서 진실을 알리며 더 큰 연대를 구축해 나갈 것이다.

Lies cannot triumph the truth
Recently, Israeli Deputy chief in mission Barak Shine wrote an article in The Korea Times (22 April) justifying the Nakba of 1948 and the genocide in Gaza today. They claimed that they had always hoped for peace, but that Palestinians and Arabs had chosen violence. They also used blatant racist language, accusing Arabs and Muslims of being antisemitic.
In fact, the false propaganda of the Israeli embassy and the deputy chief is no longer surprising. But they can’t hide the truth. The Zionist state of Israel’s ethnic cleansing has forced Palestinians off their land, and the war it has waged over the past year and a half has claimed the lives of 50,000 Palestinians. Many of them are women and children. Even now, the Israeli blockade of Gaza is preventing any supplies from entering the territory, leaving Gazans on the brink of death.
Many people living through this time are aware of the nature of Israel’s evil actions. The Palestinian resistance to independence and the international movement in solidarity with it have shone the light of truth. Israel can never triumph. Lies cannot defeat the truth. In Korea, we will continue to build greater solidarity against Israel’s genocide by speaking the truth.
