주한 이스라엘 대사관이 3월 19일 성명을 발표해, 이스라엘이 휴전 합의를 깨고 하루 만에 팔레스타인인 400명을 학살하는 만행을 저지른 것을 정당화하는 거짓말을 늘어 놓았다. 여기에서 그치지 않고 주한 이스라엘 대사는 21일 국내 언론과의 인터뷰에서 이 끔찍한 주장을 반복했다.
휴전이 깨진 것은 이미 휴전 조항을 수백 번 위반해 온 이스라엘 때문이다. 이스라엘 대사관은 전쟁 재개가 인질 귀환을 위해서라지만, 이스라엘 인질들을 죽음으로 내몰아 온 것은 이스라엘 자신의 폭격이었다는 것은 모두가 아는 사실이다.
그간 주한 이스라엘 대사관은 팔레스타인 연대 목소리를 반유대주의로 낙인 찍으려 시도하는 등 이스라엘 국가의 인종 학살 전쟁 내내 철저한 시온주의 프로파간다 기구 구실을 해 왔다.
하지만 손바닥으로 하늘을 가릴 수 없듯이, 이스라엘의 만행은 결코 은폐될 수 없다. 2023년 이스라엘 대사관이 제작한 ‘서울 불바다’ 영상은 국내에서 거센 역풍에 부딪혀 비공개되기도 했다.
이미 전 세계적으로 이스라엘은 최악의 인종청소 국가로서 각인돼 있다. ‘팔연사’는 한국에서 이스라엘의 만행을 폭로하고 학살을 규탄하는 행동을 멈추지 않을 것이다. 인종 학살 중단과 팔레스타인 해방을 향해서 쉬지 않고 연대에 나설 것이다.

We condemn Israeli embassy’s justification of genocide!
On 19 March, the Embassy of Israel in South Korea released a statement in which it lied to justify Israel’s massacre of 400 Palestinians on one day after breaking the ceasefire agreement. It didn’t stop there, the Israeli ambassador to South Korea repeated this horrific claim in an interview with South Korean media on 21 March.
The ceasefire is broken because Israel has already violated the terms of the ceasefire hundreds of times. The Israeli embassy claims that the resumption of the war is for the return of the hostages, but everyone knows that it was Israel’s own bombing that killed the Israeli hostages.
The Israeli embassy has been a staunch Zionist propaganda machine throughout the Israeli state’s genocidal war, including attempting to brand Palestinian solidarity voices as antisemitic.
But just as you can’t cover the sky with the palm of your hand, you can’t cover up Israel’s atrocities. In 2023, the Israeli embassy’s ‘Seoul on Fire’ video was withdrawn from the public domain after facing strong backlash.
Israel is already known around the world as the world’s worst ethnic cleansing state. ‘People in Solidarity with Palestinians’ in Korea will not stop exposing Israel’s atrocities and condemning the genocide. We will continue to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people to demand an end to the genocide and the liberation of Palestine.
